Class 1 Farm Operator
Class 1 Farm Operator
Position is year-round full time
Duties can include:
• Hauling silage / manure / straw / grain / equipment
• Operating loader / telehandler / bedding equipment for feedlot maintenance
• Performing general equipment maintenance
• Approach task and projects in a detail-orientated manner
• Mechanical / welding skills an asset
• Applicant must possess clean work habits and an ability to work in a team environment
Wages:
• Competitive, negotiable on experience. RRSP, health & benefit plan
Requirements:
• Class 1 (Drivers will be required to obtain a Commercial Drivers Abstract)
• Farm experience
Seed Plant Operator
Seed Plant Operator
Position is year-round full time
Duties can include:
• Knowledge of various grains and pulses
• Monitoring cleaning equipment and facilities
• Adjusting machinery settings to maximize cleaning efficiency
• Operate forklifts, grain augers, tractors, trucks, etc.
• Interaction with retail clients and truckers
• Loading and unloading customer trucks
• Maintaining records of incoming products and throughput
• Sample grading during processing and cleaning for quality control
• General equipment maintenance and maintenance planning
• General yard and site maintenance
• Assist other plant personnel as needed
Wages:

Kolk Farms Ltd. is a cattle, crop and seed focused agricultural business. As owners and managers, we see the value of having educated, engaged and passionate people working in our industries. To encourage students and young people to consider agriculture as a career, we are offering a scholarship to help with the costs of studying in a Canadian College or University towards a degree or diploma with an agricultural focus. *
Up to 5 scholarships per year consisting of up to $2,500 per successful applicant:
$500 on successful enrolment in an agricultural program
$1,000 upon successful completion of year one
$1,000 upon successful completion of year two
Applicants must apply in writing with their goal and reason for pursuing the scholarship. Kolk Farms Ltd. owners will review and pick the successful candidates that complement the mission statement of Kolk Farms Ltd.
