Beef Cattle Herdsperson

Full-Time Permanent Position | Day Shit - Weekends as needed

Duties can include:

· Pen checking, identifying ill or injured animals

· Providing necessary treatment or care to all livestock

· Maintaining digital computer records for cattle treatments and procedures

· Ensure cattle have access to adequate feed and water daily

· Shipping, receiving, and vaccinating/processing cattle

· Facility/equipment maintenance

· Bedding/pen maintenance

· General cattle farm duties

· General cleaning and upkeep duties

· Applicant must possess clean, safe work habits and an ability to work in a team environment.

· Adequate experience in a feedlot and/or with cattle is required. Maintenance experience is an asset.

Wage $22-26 - Subject to change based on experience

Post-Secondary/Continuing Education Scholarship

Kolk Farms Ltd. is a cattle, crop and seed focused agricultural business. As owners and managers, we see the value of having educated, engaged and passionate people working in our industries. To encourage students and young people to consider agriculture as a career, we are offering a scholarship to help with the costs of studying in a Canadian College or University towards a degree or diploma with an agricultural focus. *

Up to 5 scholarships per year consisting of up to $2,500 per successful applicant:

 

$500 on successful enrolment in an agricultural program

$1,000 upon successful completion of year one

$1,000 upon successful completion of year two

 

Applicants must apply in writing with their goal and reason for pursuing the scholarship. Kolk Farms Ltd. owners will review and pick the successful candidates that complement the mission statement of Kolk Farms Ltd.
